When is Calgary Folk Fest?

Get your annual music and culture fix at the 31st annual Calgary Folk Music Festival July 22-25, 2010 at Prince's Island Park. See over 62 artists from 13 countries on 7 stages.

"The Festival" is Calgary's largest, most prominent annual gathering of original, independent artists in a creative, multi-faceted artistic program that combines some of the finest: roots, world music, country, alternative, blues, funk, dub, bluegrass, celtic, traditional (and more) artists from our own backyard and the globe. From influential artists who began making music in the ‘60s and ‘70s to innovative artists whose music was created in the last decade, it's an ear-opening journey into the heart and soul of the roots and evolution of the music we like to call folk.

It's a festival of discovery with a relaxed atmosphere and an incredibly cool vibe. The site features a family area with interactive activities and entertainment, an international craft market, global culinary delights, a record tent and tree-shaded beer garden. We have plate and cup recycling to composting, secured bicycle parking and are wind-powered. There's plenty of shade and covered viewing areas for seniors and the disabled.

Come early, set up your tarp, blankets and chairs in front of mainstage daily for your evening viewing pleasure. During the day, take in our ever-evolving programming on 6 stages in the park, where musicians collaborate in unpredictable, exquisite songwriter-in-the-round and themed sessions.
