The Aspen Songwriters Festival takes Aspen's 60-year legacy as America's premier artistic "think tank" and introduces it to brilliant songwriters old and new from all across th nation: A breeding ground for the next generation of song. A unique collaboration between Songwriting Hall of Fame member John Oates and Aspen's 1889-vintage Wheeler Opera House, the festival grew from a 2009 mini-series called The Stories Behind the Songs, and a mutual love of creating the "shortest distance between the songwriter's voice and the listener's ear."
