What is Common Ground on the Hill?
Common Ground on the Hill is a roots-based, traditional arts, non-profit organization housed on the campus of McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. Founded in 1994. we are a multicultural community of musicians, artists, writers, lecturers, actors, dancers, and filmmakers, teaching skills to students of all ages and to one another. By way of the arts, we foster and facilitate dialogue among different cultures in order to discover that our artistic common ground unites us. We endeavor to improve our communities, our world, and ourselves as we meet, share, and celebrate our traditional arts and cultures on "common ground". As a result, our world can become a more humane place." Common Ground On The Hill - Celebrating the Common Ground of the Traditional Arts Since 1994 Common Ground on the Hill was founded on the premise that there is a common human thread unifying all people expressed in our various artistic traditions. The Common Ground mission is to make this thread a path towards human understanding, tolerance, fulfillment, and enjoyment. For more information visit CommonGroundOnTheHill.org.
