Tribute and Benefit Shows for Mark Wehner in Nashville

by Steve Garvan
(Garvan Management)

As many of you know, our good friend Mark Wehner has stage four cancer and is going fast. I remember Mark taking me to a Sounds game one evening many years ago to talk about his plans for starting Americana Tonight. He wanted me to know how much he loved what we were doing and to enlist our support. For several years, Mark hosted "Americana Tonight" at Douglas Corner, featuring many of the top artists in Americana, Country, Bluegrass, and Rock. Lots of shows, lots of memories. In his honor, we're presenting two final "Americana Tonight" shows on September 7 and 14. Both shows will be at Douglas Corner and begin at 6pm. Mike Webb hosting the first one and I am hosting the second. Donations will be taken at the door, with some proceeds going to offset expenses and the rest going to Alive Hospice.

The line-up for the 14th: Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, Pat McLaughlin, Sally Mudd, The 1861 Project, Jon Byrd, Kevin Gordon, Davis Raines, Daniel Colehour Band, Jim Reilley , Tina Mitchell Wilkins & Brian Langlanais, Irene Kelley, Peter Cooper & Eric Brace, Suzette Rene & The Neon Angels, Ericson Holt and more.

"God bless Mark Wehner and this wonderful music community" --Billy Block

Mark has been instrumental in the Americana world for at least 10-15 years, an invaluable & staunch supporter of everything Americana. We wouldn?t have had some of the successes of the Americana Renegades show, artist, backline, promotion & marketing without him. Thanks Mark for all that you do !!
