Tim Johnson & Songwriter Institute invites you to participate in an incredible experience, The Successful Songwriters Clinic, from March 26th - 29th, 2010, in the Tennessee Mountains, at the beautiful Sugar Hollow Retreat.
For three days and three nights, this all-inclusive event will bring songwriters of all levels and abilities face to face with Super Hit Writers Tim Johnson (Do You Believe Me Now – Jimmy Wayne, Things That Never Cross a Man’s Mind – Kellie Pickler, I Let Her Lie – Daryle Singletary, To Do What I Do – Alan Jackson), Deanna Bryant (Johnny & June – Heidi Newfield, Stupid Boy - Keith Urban, Don’t Make Me – Blake Shelton, Forever Love – Reba McEntire), James Dean Hicks (Goodbye Time – Conway Twitty, Grandpa Told Me So – Kenny Chesney, I Pray – Oak Ridge Boys), Rory Lee Feek (Some Beach – Blake Shelton, Cheater Cheater – Joey & Rory, How Do You Get That Lonely – Blaine Larsen), publisher Jennifer Johnson (Golden Vault Music) and the Director of BMI, David Preston.
In writing workshops like The Fly On The Wall, and The Big Write you will see, hear and participate DIRECTLY in how the hit writers TURN AN IDEA INTO A FINISHED SONG.
There will be performances by you and the staff, critiques and music business know-how pow-wows from major Industry professionals who are on the cutting edge of the musical landscape. You will learn what The Biz insiders know, and you’ll find out what the trends will be and how to help you think outside of the box. When you leave The Successful Songwriters Clinic, you will have a BOLD, FRESH WAY OF THINKING about how to make music, and how to make a living making it! You’ll be writing, thinking, playing, learning, and connecting like you’ve never done before!
We are offering Scholarships and a chance to write One-on-One with Tim Johnson. These are separate opportunities for the same event! In other words, you don’t have to have received a scholarship to have the chance to get the co-writing opportunity with Tim. If you register to attend AND apply for scholarship/one-on-one, you’ll guarantee your spot at the Clinic. If you receive scholarship, we’ll refund your tuition. If you don’t receive scholarship, we’ll deduct $50 (the application for scholarship fee) from your tuition. What have you got to lose?!
In Tim’s own words: “During this three day song-a-thon, we’ll be using innovative teaching methods, where you won’t be just lectured to, but where you’ll get to be an active participant in the songwriting process, with music business mentors and hit writers helping you along the way. This intensive program, will not only school you on the basics of craft and form, but also motivate you and give you the tools to be the songwriter you hope to be. Writers of all levels and genres will be gaining priceless knowledge, and they will get the invaluable chance to have their songs heard and critiqued by icons of music and lyrics. There’s going to be some hard work, but it’s going to be fun too, and the setting we’ve chosen is beautiful.”
