Nashville Songwriters Festival

You are invited to attend the annual Nashville SongWriters Festival June 4-6, 2010 in Nashville, TN!

At the Top of Music Row by the "Roundabout" traffic circle across from ASCAP and BMI! Friday AM till Sunday Midnight! Free Parking at BMI, ASCAP & Sony Tree Music plus plenty of street parking all up and down the Row on 17th Ave. S., 16th Ave. S. & in-between!

There are multiple outdoor stages (Curb Music parking lot, base of the Artist Tower, Sure Fire Music parking lot and so on...), with scheduled play-slots available. There are also unscheduled open sing rings that you can join in or create. All who come will get their chance to be heard if they are not shy. The fest can go 24/7 from Friday afternoon till Sunday midnight. We are not a control freak fest. Come be yourself. That's when the music magic happens.

You are also invited to the Open House On Music Row June 16 & 17 where publishers, song pluggers and radio host will be accepting your unsolicited CDs for consideration. Other music related businesses will also be represented such as recording studios, Independent record labels, etc. so check out the "Open House" link at the web site [below].

Peavey has donated an acoustic guitar to the fest for us to do with as we please. All I can figure out to do in good conscience is to give the guitar away in the spirit it was given to one of the festival attendees. We will be holding a free drawing on Sunday at 6 pm. You don't have to be present to win but you do need to be present to register for the drawing, so stop by and throw your name in the hat. Approximate value $500.

There is a lot more to the fest, featured hit writers and other surprises await. The real featured writer is you. We have guest coming from Australia, Ireland, Canada and all parts of the US. Come welcome your brothers and sisters. Come make our fifth year a big hippie music love fest of original songs.

Also come join in our annual sunrise Christian Music Segment Sunday June 17 from 6 am to noon. This year's music service is shaping up to be miraculous. The fest is open to all genres of music and all forms of songwriting but their is a special emphasis on Christian original songs Sunday morning. Then after twelve noon we pick back up with want ever you want to play. Let's play!

The festival is contribution based. Each writer decides what they can do to be a part of the fest and help make it happen. If you can spare something we'll take it, if ya can't that's fine. We do need some help here and there and volunteers are welcome. The most important contribution is yawl supporting each other and celebrating in song. We try really hard not to let money get in the way of humanity sharing their music. However, regretfully music is a business. The fest is what you make it.

You are also invited to attend the pre-fest Writers Retreat June 13-15. We have enlarged the class room size to accommodate as many who wish to come or can get off from their day jobs. Turn of the century Scarritt-Bennett Center, a block over and up from Curb Music. Pro instructors will be sharing what they have learned in the music biz for three days just before the big weekend fest. Some of it is very personal and soul bearing. We all have our ups and downs. The instructors tells it like it is. It is not easy being on the profession we have chosen but...if you surround yourself with open, honest people, you stand a chance. The Writers Retreat is also contribution based.

Plenty of free parking!
