Marc YuEight Year Old Pianist
On a recent airing of
The Ellen DeGeneres Show, one of Ellen's guests was the remarkable eight-year-old pianist and music prodigy Marc Yu.
What a wonderfully talented and entertaining young person! Marc told Ellen a clever joke that went something like this:
"Ghandi always walked barefoot and so he had many callouses on his feet. He also ate very little and so was extremely thin and frail. His poor eating habits gave him very bad breath...making him a 'super-calloused-fragile-mystic-hexed-by-halitosis'!"
CUTE!
About Marc Yu from MarcYu.org:
"I am...a very dedicated
musician. I love listening to music closely,
and I love practicing carefully. Between
piano and cello, I often practice up to 5 to 6
hours a day, even more when my mother
lets me. Although I enjoy my other school
studies, I become impatient when I can't
return regularly, as I expected, to music. I
am always very excited when I get to learn
a new piece. My life is centered around
music.
"Many prominent musicians and composers
-- like Schubert and Brahms (and the
famous pianist, Lang Lang, my idol!) -- have
had difficulties on their way to becoming
great musicians. But because they did not
give up, they succeeded. I hope my own
difficulties will not be too great. I hope to
contribute to people by making
music. Making people happy by playing
music for them is a nice way to serve the
world." —Marc Yu
Marc Doldo Yu was born on January 5th, 1999 in Pasadena, CA.
