Heartfest Benefit Concert (Sacramento, California)

by George Goldstein
(Los angeles)

Scott West & Sex On Sunday will be headlining this annual benefit concert on October 12, 2007

Heartfest is a yearly concert that benefits The Heart Gallery, which works with California county agencies to place California homeless children over the age of four and multiple sibling sets. These children would not usually get placed into loving homes without the assistance of The Heart Gallery. The Heart Gallery gives these children their only chance to find loving families and to have hope, love and stability in their lives.

Each year California musicians come together to donate their time and talent to help these homeless children. This year's concert will feature Scott West, Sex On Sunday, Urban Fire, Xenophilia, Ricki Berger, The Mundaze, The Silver Griffin, Alex (Walking Spanish), Stephen Elliott, The Pinder Brothers, Odd Moniker, Robert Vianco and Gary G. at The Java Cafe & Brew Pub in Fair Oaks, CA (11755 Fair Oaks Blvd- 3 blocks east of Sunrise on Madison at the corner of Fair Oaks and Madison)on Friday October 12th from 6 PM to 11 PM.

According to Heartfest founder Scott West, "We started Heartfest last year to try to help The Heart Gallery. In Sacramento alone over 1,500 homeless children are accepted into the system each month and the county just doesn't have enough funding to place all of them, so those that are a little harder to place never get a chance. This is why so many wonderful San Diego, San Francisco, LA and Sacramento bands and artists are helping." Admission is only $5 and Heartfest will feature 12 musical acts on two stages.

Heartfest has slated the 2007 KCRA Best Sacramento Band winner (The Pinder Brothers), 2007 Sammy Award Winner (Urban Fire), 2006 Sacramento News & Review Reader's Poll Best Band Winner (Sex On Sunday), two scorching hot bands from the bay area (The Mundaze & The Silver Griffin), and some of California's best singer songwriters: Stephen Eliott, Ricky Berger, Xenophilia, Alex (Walking Spanish), Gary G and Robert Vivanco.

West commented, "We hope that everyone will spread the word and bring their friends to the Java Cafe on Friday October 12th for Heartfest 2007 and help to change the lives of these deserving homeless children."
