About Calypso Music Festival

Calypso Music Festival is a direct creation of Bridge-Jumpers Festivals & Events, which is owned by Brad Bonner and Cory Howard.

Brad Bonner is a 26 year old student at Valdosta State University and was born and raised here in Valdosta, Georgia. With southern roots he has a special place in his heart for farmers of all types. Bonner also has a love for music that he received from his mom and father Bobby and Lynne Bonner and has always wanted to do something with this love.

Cory Howard is a Valdosta native as well, who has always wanted to do something wonderful for a great cause, he was born into music and feels the emotions of every song with meaning, his passion and dedication mixed with Bonner's dreams and ideas have led them on this path to bring great music to their hometown while helping others in the process.

In September 2006, while listening to his friend Chuck Nash play at a local club, Bonner started getting the idea of putting on a concert to help out his friends Nash and Yancy Clegg in getting recognized in the Georgia area.

In January, Bonner revealed this small dream to his friend Howard, who gave Bonner the kick in the pants needed to start this ball rolling. What started as a two to three band concert has ballooned into a Festival from this small dream. While planning Calypso Music Festival, Bonner and Howard decided they wanted to make this a charity event and "allow people to have a good time for a good cause." For both of the guys it was pretty apparent what kind of charity they wanted this event to be: Calypso Music Festival will benefit local farmers in the South Georgia area.

The Calypso Music Festival will feature a pool of talented artists such as Wilson Empire, Night Driving in Small Towns, Blackeyed Katy, Yancy Clegg, Chuck Nash, Corey Crowder (featured on MTV's The Real World), Anderson Explains (Gainesville, FL), and more....
